Refund Policy
What we refund, what we don't, and what isn't ours to refund.
Effective June 29, 2026 · Last updated August 26, 2026 · Version 2026-08-26
This Policy explains how refunds work for every payment made through HauzHost at hauzhost.com and its subdomains (the “Service”), operated by AgriWorks Crop Solutions, LLC. It forms part of our Terms of Use.
First, whose money is it?
HauzHost is software that independent rental hosts use to run their own tenancies. That means two very different kinds of payment pass through the Service, and only one of them is ours:
- Our fees — subscription plans and one-time fees such as ownership verification. We charge these, we keep them, and this Policy decides them.
- Money you pay your host (or your tenant pays you) — rent, security deposits, move-in fees, and utility invoices. We never take a share of these. They are the host’s money, and we are not a party to the tenancy.
Rent, deposits, and anything you paid your host
We cannot refund these, and it would not be right for us to try. Whether a deposit deduction was fair, whether a rent payment should be returned, whether a utility charge was correct — those are questions between a tenant and their host, governed by the lease and by the landlord–tenant law of the state the property is in. HauzHost is a tool; it is not the landlord, not a broker, not an escrow agent, and not a judge of a tenancy dispute.
What we will do is make sure you have your own records to press your own case: your payment receipts, the ledger, the invoice, the lease terms it rests on, and the summary of what your state’s law says about deposits. If you want a payment back, ask your host — a host can issue a refund of money paid to them. If you believe your host has broken the law, your remedy is against them, and your state’s landlord–tenant authority or a court is where it lies.
Subscription plans
Plans are billed in advance. You can cancel at any time and your plan keeps running until the end of the period you have already paid for — but we do not refund a period that has already begun, including annual plans. Changing your number of units or your tier adjusts your next invoice through Stripe rather than paying money back. Your data and listings are not deleted when a plan ends.
Ownership & identity verification fees
A verification fee is non-refundable once verification begins, and verification begins as soon as your payment goes through — the identity check and the ownership-record lookup both run immediately, and both cost us money at that moment. You are told this before you pay, and you have to confirm you understand it before we will take the payment.
If a verification does not pass, you can try again at no extra charge. That is the remedy: nobody who can complete a verification pays for it twice, and the document-review route runs on the same paid attempt. If you later ask us to erase your identity data, any verification resting on it is withdrawn — the check cannot outlive the evidence it was based on — and no refund follows, which we explain to you before you confirm the erasure.
Third-party costs
Some amounts we collect are not ours to keep: payment-processing fees, and the cost of the third-party identity and property-record checks inside a verification. These are paid straight out to the provider and are never refundable. Where a fee like this applies, we disclose it before you pay.
When we do refund
- If we got it wrong, we fix it. A duplicate charge, a charge for something you never received, or a verification that could not complete because of a fault on our side or an outage at a provider we chose — we refund our fee in full, whether or not you ask.
- Goodwill. Beyond that, we may refund one of our fees as a gesture, at our discretion. It is not a right and we do not publish conditions for it, because we are not in the business of judging anyone’s circumstances — but if something has gone badly for you, write to us and a person will read it.
Disputes with your bank
If you dispute a charge with your card issuer or bank, we will respond with the record of what you agreed to and what was delivered. A successful dispute over a verification fee withdraws the verification it paid for. A dispute over rent or a deposit is between you and your host; we will provide both of you with the records.
How to ask
Email privacy@hauzhost.com with the payment date and amount. Tell us what happened rather than what category you think it falls into — we will work that out. We read every request. Refunds of our fees are returned to the original payment method.
Nothing in this Policy limits rights you have under the law of your jurisdiction that cannot be waived by agreement.
